Steam Turbine Generator (STG) The purpose of the STG is to produce electric power and to provide flexibility in daily operations for normal variations in the plants steam cycle. The STG operates in the combined cycle mode for the co-generation facility and produces electric power from steam produced by the CTG exhaust heat. In addition to producing electric power, the STG provides the plant with flexibility to absorb normal variations for EOR and oil field operation.
The STG was designed and packaged by the Coppus-Murray Company specifically for the DAI Oildale EOR Steam Facility. The STG has a High Pressure steam inlet, an Intermediate Pressure uncontrolled extraction port, a Low Pressure controlled induction port and an exhaust outlet to the condenser. The STG compensates for normal plant variations by operating in the HP inlet pressure regulation mode and LP induction pressure regulation mode.
